Father Hank Hilton has spent much of his life in Catholic education. He graduated from Holy Cross Grammar School in Monmouth County and, after high school, earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics from Fordham. He then worked as an energy economist at Texaco until he entered the Jesuits. The process of Jesuit studies required Father to complete three more master’s degrees at Jesuit schools – a master’s in Philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago and two master’s degrees from Boston College, one in Divinity and another in Theology.
Father then spent 15 years teaching Economics at Loyola University in Baltimore. Along the way, Father Hilton also taught at Canisius College, Fordham University, and Boston College. In addition to studying and teaching at many Catholic schools, Father Hilton has served on the boards of Christo Rey High School in Baltimore, Loyola Blakefield Academy in Towson, Canisius College in Buffalo and LeMoyne College in Syracuse. Beyond his experience in many aspects of Catholic education, Father Hilton has earned a master’s degree in education from Harvard and a PhD in Land Economics from University of Wisconsin, has taught Economics at Rutgers for ten years and has served as board Chair of the Arc of Monmouth County and of the Xavier Society for the Blind in New York.
Father Hilton has been pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Hillsborough since 2017. Father Hilton is delighted to be affiliated with Perth Amboy Catholic School and to share the many lessons he has learned along the way about the world of Catholic education that he values so highly.
