Howie grew up in Brooklyn and attended St. Brigid’s School and St. Francis Prep for his early education. After receiving a B.S. in Mathematics from Manhattan College, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University. Starting his career as a computer programmer, he pivoted to employment in the leasing industry. Working for several large financial institutions, he arranged financings for various large ticket assets including transportation equipment (airplanes, ships, railcars) and Real Estate.
Howie met his wife Mary Anne (presently a teacher at PACS) in college and has five children and eight grandchildren. They are parishioners at Good Shepherd Parish, one of the sponsoring parishes of PACS. For many years they were on the Pre Cana team at their local parish. Howie also served as a scout leader and soccer coach while his children were growing up. In addition, he has spent many hours volunteering at National Multiple Sclerosis fundraisers in NYC. Currently, Howie serves as Treasurer of the Historical Association of Woodbridge Township.
