Susan Delaney-Choma brings a lifelong dedication to Catholic education and spiritual formation to her role on the Perth Amboy Catholic School Board. She studied at Immaculate Heart Seminary at Seton Hall and earned a dual B.A. in Theology and Education from the College of Saint Elizabeth (now the University of Saint Elizabeth), with minors in Secondary Education and Psychology. She began her career teaching religion at Mount Saint Mary Academy, where she taught Catholicism, World Religions, and Social Justice.
Susan later earned a master’s degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University, along with a certificate in Spiritual Direction and Directing Retreats. She has since dedicated herself to full-time ministry as a spiritual director and retreat leader, also earning certificates in mindfulness and stress management to serve a wider community.
Susan is a member of St. Bartholomew Parish in Scotch Plains, where she serves in the formation of OCIA candidates as well as proclaiming the Word. Susan is passionate about Catholic education. Susan’s twin sons attended Catholic elementary school, high school, and Jesuit universities. Her grandson will also be attending Catholic elementary school. She is grateful for the opportunity to support the mission of Perth Amboy Catholic School, forming students in faith, academic excellence, and service.
